All Trinity members are encouraged to attend our Annual Congregational Meeting on Sunday, Feburary 3rd, following our 10:00 am Worship Service.

Dinners for 8 is a fun and easy way to get to know new friends (and old friends better) within our church family. Groups of 7, 8 or 9 people, chosen at random, get together for a meal with an emphasis on fun and friendship. Dinners for 8 will be just a single dinner in February this year, so don’t wait to sign up or you’ll miss out! If you’re new to our church this a great way to jump in!

Hosts will contact the other members of your dinner group to set the date and time for your dinner. Groups are encouraged to keep the meals casual and focus on the fellowship. Don’t worry if you don’t have a large dining area or you’re not a gourmet chef, it’s the coming together that matters! Some hosts may decide to provide the entire meal; other hosts may decide to provide the main dish and beverages while other group members contribute sides and dessert. If you’re the host it’s up to you!

Our Women’s Bible Study group resumes on Wednesday, January 16th at 9:30 am with a study of Jen Wilkin’s 1st Peter, A Living Hope in Christ.

Our inheritance through Christ is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading. In 1 Peter, a man of faith and flaws and eyewitness to the life of Christ challenges us to look beyond our current circumstances to a future inheritance. He shares his concerns on big picture issues for the early church, describes believers’ true identity in Christ, and ultimately helps readers discover what it means to experience the Living Hope they have in Christ. Key themes of humility, submission, and identity in Christ guide the study of 1 Peter as participants are challenged to read the book in its entirety each week.

We have moved to the next step in our Associate Pastor search process by naming the Associate Pastor Nominating Committee (APNC). On Sunday, December 30, the congregation approved the following members to serve:

• Ray McDonald
• Joel Peters
• David Shankle
• Katie Taber

We thank these members for their willingness to help take us down the road towards calling an Associate Pastor.

At Trinity we strive to follow Jesus with all that we do and with all that we are. We are guided in this principal by our elected officers, our Elders and Deacons.

Our Elders:

The Elders on Session have responsibility for governing the congregation and guiding its witness. Each year, the congregation elects Elders to serve a three-year term of service on Session. Our Session consists of nine Elders and the Pastor.

We thank our outgoing Class of 2019 who have dedicated their time and efforts to Trinity for the last three years. Our appreciation is extended to Sara Gray, Jay Steele, and Liz White.

On January 20th, we will ordain and install our newest Elders to the Class of 2022. Our prayers and support are with Ray Gearld, Melissa McMenemy, and David Rhoades as they prepare to assume their roles as Elders.

Our upcoming Session will consist of:

Class of 2020: Ann Meiggs, Todd Taber, Ben Zurita
Class of 2021 : Hank Barger, Meredith Golden, Leland Morris
Class of 2022: Ray Gearld, Melissa McMenemy, David Rhoades

Our Deacons:

Deacons are people of compassion, witness, and service, sharing in the redeeming love of Jesus Christ. Each year the congregation elects four Deacons to serve a three-year term of service.

We thank our outgoing Class of 2019: Brian Decker, Carla D’Eramo, Stephanie Finley, and David Tew. Your dedication is greatly appreciated.

On January 20th, we will ordain and install our newest Deacons to the Class of 2022: Arnold Corbin, Donna DePoy, Claire Johnson, and Joe Small. Our prayers and support are with you.

Trinity partners with Upward Sports™, the world’s largest Christian youth sports provider, to sponsor and host a season of Basketball and Cheerleading each winter. The mission of Upwards Sports™ is to promote the discovery of Jesus through sports and our program touches hundreds of kids in the North Tarrant County area.

Upward at Trinity is open to all boys and girls in grades K5 through 6th grade. Practices and games begin January 7th and continue through early March.

Music Thursdays at Trinity will begin on January 11th. We will start the Trinity Handbell Choir at 6:00 pm, followed by the Fellowship Choir at 7:15. If you can lend your bell playing or voice to either (or both) of these choirs, please contact Laura Bray (LauraB@trinitysouthlake.org) or just show up. All are welcome!

New Worship Program for Kids
Starting Sunday, December 16

Kids in 1st-5th grades will start in the Worship Center with their friends and family,
then will be released to go to the theater after the greeting portion of the service.

This is a time for this age group to worship together with:

Themed-based messages
Discussions
Videos
Games

We are holding a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, December 30th following the 10:00 am Worship Service. The purpose of the meeting is to nominate and approve the Associate Pastor Nominating Committee and to nominate and approve a final elder for the Class of 2022.
