Trinity Welcomes Laura Warriner Bray
It is our pleasure to announce that Laura Warriner Bray has joined the staff of Trinity as Music Director.
The daughter of a church organist, Laura grew up in Madison Mississippi. She began her music career at the age of 14, directing and accompanying the children’s choirs in her home church. She is educated in Vocal Performance and Piano with a Bachelor of Music from the University of Mississippi and Master of Music from the University of North Texas.
Laura is an active professional choral, chamber, and opera singer, performing frequently in the DFW metroplex. She is a lead alto singer with the Orpheus Chamber Singers in Dallas and a mezzo soprano with the American Baroque Opera Company. She is also a Certified Early Childhood Music Specialist with Music Together, an internationally renowned music and movement program for children ages 0-5.
Her passion for sacred music is one she shares with her husband, Clinton, who is a full-time organist at University Park Methodist Church. Laura and Clinton have been married five years and share their love of music with their three-year-old daughter, JenniCate. The family currently resides in Carrollton, TX.
Laura genuinely believes that making music together, regardless of ability level, truly makes us happier and healthier as individuals, and provides a higher level of fellowship that all members of our congregation can value.
Please join us in welcoming Laura as she begins her music leadership with us this week.
Fill A Gift Bag for Vets
Each year the TPC family works with the Presbyterian Night Shelter Veterans Program to bring some Christmas joy to their Veteran guests by providing gift bags filled with goodies. This is a fantastic opportunity to both thank them for their service and spread some much needed Christmas Joy.
More about the Presbyterian Night Shelter Veterans Program…
There are 82 veterans staying at the shelter. There are three stages that the Vets at the shelter work through.
- Stage One: Any veteran that comes in asking for help is immediately given a bed in the main floor, in a separated area with other veterans apart from the rest of the shelter.
- Stage Two: From there, they work their way to the upstairs level which has more individual rooms, etc.
- Stage Three: The goal is for them to work their way to the Patriot House across the street, where they work on getting back out into the world on their own.
The entire Veterans program has 82 Veterans (80 men and 2 women), and this year Trinity has the opportunity to provide stockings for all of these soldiers.
We’ve been asked to provide bags filled with small “treasures” (see below for suggestions). These are personal items that are needed in their day-to-day lives and items that are simply fun! The coordinator suggested the Dollar Tree at a great resource for a lot of these items. Please try to limit the size and quantities of your gifts to fit into the bag as the guests have limited space to store their gifts.
Please pick up your bag(s) in the church lobby, fill it with goodies, and return to the church on or before December 16. Please be sure to check off your name when you return your bag.

Disposable Razors

Or, anything that’s simply fun! Be creative!

Does this Thanksgiving Shopping List look a little funny?
Many of the kids served by the Thanksgiving meal program eat free and reduced lunches at their schools. With school being out for the whole week, these kids often go hungry. This list includes extra food to feed the kids during the week, in addition to food for a nice Thanksgiving dinner.
