1 Timothy 6:18-19 reminds us, “They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.”
As our times continue to feel uncertain, it can be difficult to look towards the future with any kind of clarity or comfort. And yet, as a church, we are called to hope. As the people of God, we are called to perseverance and faithfulness and love. And this means that we have a clear mission and mandate even in these uncertain times.
We are still called to do good; we are still called to be rich in good works; we are still called to be generous and to share. This is how we build a good foundation. This is how we take hold of that which is truly life. This is how we live out our stewardship.
Of course, this isn’t just true for us as individuals, it’s also true for us as a church. Together, we are to do good, be rich in good works, and be generous. This is the ministry that we’re called to, and this is how we live out our stewardship together.
To that end, we begin our 2021 Stewardship Campaign. As we do, we also acknowledge that pledging is hard in the best of times, but harder still in times of uncertainty. And yet, faithful stewardship is what allows our church family to plan and prepare for our life and ministry together.
Therefore, we are asking you to begin the process of prayerfully considering what God may be calling you to pledge in this next year. More to the point, we’re really asking those of you who made a pledge for this year to continue giving/pledging at that level for next year. Of course, we recognize that not everyone will be able to do this, but if you can, it would be a blessing. Additionally, if you find yourself more blessed, maybe you could increase your gift to help out those who cannot.
As a church family we strive to do good, be rich in good works, and live generously, as we build a firmer foundation for the future, so that we may take hold of that which is truly life.
Thank You All!
